Whatever the name, a Spokane remodeler will most likely welcome taking on the bathroom. They know that for many, a nice, roomy bathroom can be a great get-away – a place to totally relax. And that often not only means “space” but the feeling of luxury - A bath with plenty of room to really get comfortable, a jet or two to relax the muscles, soft lighting to set the relaxation mood... Maybe even a nice area to lay down to dry off or to enjoy a well deserved massage.
A quality basement remodeling specialist is the way to go. Either way a nice addition to a bathroom is multiple sinks so that you can have “his” and “her” areas with possibly a nice make-up center with a stool. You might consider a custom ceramic shower in addition to the bathtub, which is a great bathroom idea. Custom ceramic tile showers add elegance to a bathroom that is hard to match. Ask your contractor and he or she will most likely have several suggestions based on your ideas and what they see.

You can ask them about the numerous options to consider when developing a unique shower design - the size and shape of the ceramic tile, the style, the pattern of installation. Then there are the variety of shower doors that are available and the number and location of showerheads.
The jet tubs can also be helpful for those that have health issues providing a soothing way to get relief.
And then there is the flooring? There are many designs and styles to choose from that can add further elegance to the room - Ceramic to vinyl to even wood flooring and carpet – all of one or a combination of styles. A good remodeling contractor or home improvements person can really help in making everything come together as you desire.
Pedestal sinks can be used very effectively in small bathrooms since they take up less space and can make the bathroom look elegant. Coupled with some lighter, bright colors with a simple window treatment such as wooden shades or a colorful curtain can be very effective.
Wall coverings can include fabrics and/or paint. Muted natural paint colors can help to give a bathroom a warm feel and work well in balancing out a ceramic tile floor and/or ceramic tile shower.
Lighting of the bathroom is also important and should include the ability for both bright and muted lighting. This can be accomplished by using dimmer controls. The idea is to have lighting that is bright for makeup application but mood when it is time to relax.
Bathroom lighting fixtures should be selected to provide both a warmth and elegance. It is important to include proper lighting above or near the shower and tub areas so you aren’t taking a shower in the dark. Good remodeling contractors will have most likely confronted your unique situation and will have many helpful suggestions.
What about the kitchen? Do you need more space for more cooks in the kitchen? Do you want more convenience because you enjoy preparing gourmet meals for family and friends? Are you looking to increase the value of your home should you decide to sell at some point? Do you just want to increase cabinet space to get things off the counter tops?
Surprisingly, the kitchen is where most families spend the majority of their time. And it is also where people tend to congregate. So it is important to really think about what you are trying to accomplish with your remodel. You don’t want to realize after the fact that you didn’t allow for enough space for this or that. So think it through thoroughly and even discuss it all with your Spokane Contractors.

Here are some good Kitchen Remodeling Ideas to consider:
A walk in pantry - It is very convenient, keeping food out of the way but it is also convenient for access.
Big drawers and cabinets to store larger pans so that you don't have to always move things around..
Pullout drawers are very convenient and take full advantage of space.
If you are putting in new appliances, consider putting things where they are convenient for how your family works together and/or how you cook. (refer to “work triangles”)
Don’t forget to consider adding a second sink for preparation of food. It can be a welcomed addition, especially when you have more than one cook in the kitchen.
A good rule of thumb is to remember that ‘form always follows function’ - Think how you cook and how your family functions. The kitchen should make your life easier. So define your goals, set some priorities and create a kitchen that suits your style.
First take complete and accurate measurements…
1. Figure all of your measurements with a tape-measure. Start at the very left side of the room, working around to the right measuring first the walls.
2. Mark all windows, doors, and closets by measuring from the corner to the outside edge of the molding. Don't forget to indicate any permanent appliances, air vents, offsets, etc.
3. Measure to the centerline of plumbing, ducting and outlets. Mark the location of each electrical outlet graphing everything onto paper.
The basic floor plan…
Once you have accurrate measurements, start sketching in the cabinets. Start in the corner of your grid paper and work out. Be sure to consider the location of your electrical outlets, plumbing fixtures and air ducts.
You will want to think in relationship to “work zones”. Most contractors will refer to “the work triangle,” where you will most likely handle multiple functions. For instance, when you are cooking you most likely need access to the stove, oven, refrigerator, spices… So think about work zones and what those “zones” need access to while working within them. This is critical with any home improvements.
Then don’t forget about organization. When you shop, where do you put things before arranging everything on the shelves? Is your kitchen convenient for access and for preparation? And can the kitchen accomodate more than one person at a time?
